Hey guys going through the srx because there isn't enough snow to ride:( I did some searching on insulating pipes and didn't find to much for clear answers. Can I use house hold insulation will it hold up. Am I better to just go to yamaha and pay through the nose. How about heat tape. I am also going to re-band them, but I don't want the insulation to settle and have to band them all over again. I was wonder where in the states to get the best bands??? I found someone uses cv axle bands correct? I don't have the cash to ceramic coat them or I would....anyone have opinions???Is more insulation better then less? Sorry about the length of the thread!!!! Rob

I used oil clamps on mine about 3 years ago after the stock ones got loose. They work fine. I try to locate bolt where it doesn't show too much but I can still reach it to tighten once in a while. I'm curious about replacing the insulation though. I should replace it in one pipe.

You can get the Pan Steel stainless steel clamps from Panduit at several online sites. This is what comes on the sled stock.

ok guys, what about the insulation on the pipes??? What would you buy yamaha or can I do them with regular fiber glass?
