they are the same size. The only difference the the spring rate is different. they upped the rate because of the h-arm being set back further in the skid.

shocks
The SX/SRX front trailing arm Ohlins work great. Easy to adj for the trail & mnts. Reservoir hangs down and looks great too. Been running it as a centre shock for 2 seasons. The shock mounts have to be spread a bit thats all.

I have a 2004 MNT Viper modded up I purchased used 2 seasons ago-sled was next to new. I put a new Ohlin on the rear right away - wanted the shock with remote reservoir-but missed out on it. A good friend of mine is a Yamaha dealer and got a smokin deal on a new one for a Distributor clearing the shocks out - Paid just under $200 - couldnt go wrong.
I found a Ohlin shock on Ebay last summer for the centre and paid about $130 shipped to me from a guy in the USA. Shock was next to new.
I sent out the first shock coil out when I bought the sled when the shock come in and got the pipes ceramic coated and had the yellow rubber paint removed and powder coated liquid silver metallic. Did the same for the centre shock too. Being a bigger guy, the sled sure rides nice in the rough stuff for sure.
Thinking of replacing the fronts with Ohlins or Fox Floats when the time comes. The fronts are a have decent shock compared to whats on a MM from what my buddy said.
Sold the 2 rear shocks to a friend who put them on his 2001 MM700 -

Centre To Centre on my SXr is 13" fully extended on my centre shock and thats the 01 SXr with the longtravel rear skid. It has been converted to a 141 railed MMax with H arm but uses the SXr shocks . Did you measure yours with the shock out cause I didn't think the mnt pro action suspension was different shock wise then any long travel pro action
