I'm going to be using ice scratchers on both my vipers. We ride mostly ice around her so i thought the extra cooling ect would be helpfull. Just trying to figure out the best location for mounting. Both are 121 skids. Any sugestions or pics of how anyone else did it would be great. Going with the spring RSI ones. Thanks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

i mount mine in the center of the bracket where the w-arm attaches to rail. just enough room to get them in there and then they hang just behind the rubber bump stops when not using them. or just ahead of the mount near the front bogie, and they will hang just ahead of the bump stop. i use holtz and billet store, should be similar to rsi.

I can see room is the problem if you want to leave the boggies. I was thinking of removing the second set of boggies and run them their. I'm no so much concerned about my slides as i am about cooling. Do you guys think they will still sit back too far? The contact point would be near the back third of the skid. I can get the adapters and cont to run the boggie also if i want. Any other thoughts

i run them on the back third on my srx with the intended purpose to spray the rear heat exchanger.

That was what i was looking for. Thanks!
Snowdad did you have to remove that second set of boggies from the bend at the rail? I was looking at the adapters to keep running the boggies but with just a collar for support will it be strong enough to support it without bending the rail?

my situation is a little unique, wont boar you with details, but i havent seen a short track sled for along time. i have similar scratchers on several different sleds, mounted in different locations. the trick is to find a location that doesnt interfere with the suspension, or the wheels. rsi makes and optional mount for the bogie wheels, in case you werent aware. this may help out in your situation. is there no room behind your front bogies between them and the rail mounted bump stop?

No, even if i mount them at the boggie it will hang past the bumper which is no big deal as i want them on for cooling. I guess my next big concern was is it ok to remove that boggie. I could buy the adapters but its $20 a pair. I think i could make my own no problem. Just worried the boggie will have no strength being mounted on just a bolt through the rail and not that mounting bracket. Going to work on it mon night and see what i come up with. Putting on my wifes rear heat exchanger also. Thanks for all the help. Any other input would be great!!!

I tried installing rail mounted ones on my SRX but they wouldn't fit. Plus they'd be too for back. Once you get moving, the spray will hit further back. I got running board mounted ones which allows me to mount them further forward. My friends use the ones that mount on the skis and they love them. If you do go with rail mounted, note that they will wear into the rails. It did that on my Dad's Venture. Maybe add another bumper there.
