Took carbs off and cleaned them. got the sled back together put fresh gas in and it wont rev past 6,OOO rpms. Also it didnt want to start at first had to use full choke and wide open throttle. seems to idle good for a minute then goes to rough idle. I have owned this sled since new and never experienced a problem like this before. any input would be greatly appreciated.

Maybe the TORS? Throttle cable get hooked back up correctly? Make sure all your cable ends are seated correctly.

maybe something moved in... does the exhaust seem to come out of the muffler like it normally does?
tors wont let it rev past 3000 check exhaust manifolds to see if they are all getting hot. Have you cleaned your carbs this year?
Check your power valves to see if one is stuck or you have a pull through cable.

IMHO The best way to check for spark is to, 1 at a time, pull the plug caps of while the sled is running and when you get to where it is running on two cylinders the one that you have unpluged is the one not firing. And obviousley if the sled can run on any combination of two of the cylinders than they're all firing. This applys to all triple 2-Strokes.

The sled seems to idle normal. There is black oil coming out of the Y pipe oil injection cable was ok and adjusted properly. I took the carbs back off tonight and the carb and jets r clean. except where the main jet on one of the carbs where it threads in seems to be sticking. it is supposed to move up and down freely inside the carb but it doesnt seet properly, dont know if this would cause a problem though. i checked the fuel filters in the tank and it seems fine. felt around inside the reed cages and reeds seem fine. the sled is also firing on all 3 cylinders. I am stumped as to why it wont rev past 6,000 RPMs.

petty sure it would still rev over 6000 but have you checked the power valves

Did you plug the carb vent hoses back into the airbox? Made that mistake a few days ago, sounds like the same symptoms... Let us know what you find..

if your powervalves were stuck closed you dont have full exhaust port opening for higher rpms, but i dont think it would prevent it from reving over 6000 but worth looking at
