Fixing deformed hand guards?????

After taking the cover off my sled this fall after getting it out of storage I found out that I had forgotten to pivot my hand guards down before putting the cover on last spring. The tension from the cover deformed the plastic and now they won't spring back to their original shape. Does anyone have a fix for this?

It may be worth trying a little heat? Start with a hair dryer and work your way up from there.

X2 - use a heat gun and a handful of snow or an ice cold wet rag to cool it once it's the shape you want.
