i have pondered if i should taper bore the stock carbs on my viper. and just to make sure they get bored on the reed valve side of the carbs right?? anything on this topic i have read into seems to imply that this is a win win mod. i am a machinist and this is a simple job to do for me so i thought i would give it a go. any info on this at all????
Leave them stock.. you wont gain anything yet alone being able to feel a gain.
stock is much more reliable and easy to keep tuned.

i just had my carbs on my srx bored from 33 to 34.5 i believe it was and i am not happy with it even with the heads shaved and mild porting it seems like i lost low end and mid range and gained maybe a little up top. not worth it
