im going thru my chainchase and had a bear of a time getting my brake rotor off and also the the splines on my drivers were pretty crudded up. what is everyone using to help prevent splines from rusting together ? just plain old anti - seize ? ep grease ?
and also any problems using blue rtv to reassemble the chaincase ? dont feel like waiting a week for a gasket from yamaha

I don't usually have a problem with the splines, Is it a sled that has sat outside a lot? I would clean them with a wire wheel, then very small amount of anti seize, You are going to want the gasket for the chain case. Ask around here someone probably has a extra they can get to you befoer a week.
sleds been indoor most of its life. rotor was a true test of my patience , getting the drive shaft outta the gear casa was also a little trying. like i said splines are ok but just wanted to make sure they are easier next time. hasnt been apart in a long time so this was waaaay over due , so im sure that played a roll in it.
