Hello,
Here is a question about Yamaha Exciter exhausts. I have a 1989 Yamaha Exciter that is not rideable, but it has a set of twin PSI pipes on it. I picked up a 1992 Yamaha Exciter II LE for a good price and want to put the PSI twin pipes from the 89 Exciter onto this 92. Will these twin pipes fit the 92? Seems like all aftermarket exhausts offered for Exciters are offered for all the year ranges they were made (1987 to 1993) so I think they should fit. Just trying to make sure before the work is started. Can anyone confirm that these pipes will fit? Thanks!

In an old (1994) PSI Catalog they list the pipes for a 87-90 Exciter as YEX-02 and they list (looks like they are the same pipes) for the Exciter II as YEX-02-91. I believe they are the same pipes, the 87-90 have shift rpm of 7800-8000 and the 91-93 have a shift rpm of 8100rpm. Hope this helps.

I don't know anything about Exciters so this wont help much but as far as I know they are the same body and chassis so the pipes should fit as long as the engines are the same cc.Along with the pipes you will have to swap the jetting from the 89's carbs to the 92's too so don't forget about that.
Thanks fellas, looks like they should work, especially since they have the same catalog number as Triple X says. The only difference between the sleds is the hood fabrication/style and the 92 I have is an electric start model. They are both 570cc motors. A friend of mine is a snowmobile mechanic (part time) and he is going to jet the 92 Exciter two over on the main jets and 1 over on the pilot jets and just see how the plugs look. I'll keep a close eye on the plugs for a while to make sure I'm not running too lean. I don't think it would be too tough to make the pipes fit if needed either but I hope it doesn't come to that!
