Well everybody, I just got off the phone with Mike Carver (Carver Performance) and he is completed with my Mnt Viper.....

He installed Fox Float shocks on the front, re-valved to Float 2 specs and he also installed his proprietary reservoirs on them also.

On the rear, he has installed an Ohlins center shock. He took the one designed for the RX1 Mnt., revalved and re-sprung it for Mnt Viper weight, and installed.

Say what you will, my Mnt Viper should ride smooth as Tiger's 5th mistress........

He also let loose the limiter straps and adjusted her for better powder performance. I'm driving out to Fergus Falls, MN tomorrow to pick her up.

I will say this, his prices are 1/2 of what my dealer charges. And he is the best with shocks, suspensions, and skids. Period...........

I will post pics when I get home with it.....

Mike

Do post pics in details with those Fox Floats. We were wondering if you could do Fox Floats in the rear skid.

Skid

The Ohlin Centre shock is on a Powder Lites "H" Arm for Pro Action Suspension but it will fit on a regular "H" Arm also.
The rear Fox Float is on the same Pro Action Suspension and knocks off a lot of weight over stock and they together have given me the best ride I have ever had with easy adjustability from transition for Trail to Mnt riding and back.

I wonder how much different the Pro Mountain skid in our 05's is than the Pro Action in your guys' Vipers.

Go with a 08+ Mseries skid if you want floats in the back.. Im Loing my m153 skid with just the fox zero pro's.... Way better than my Pro Action, however i just had the stock shocks... I wanna see pics on how he did the Front Floats...

Pro Mnt

We are working on a Turbo 05 RXI Mnt and will try the Floats out on the rear but have to remove the outer springs. The Pro Mnt does not use coil over shocks like the Pro Action so a spingless centre shock is needed.

Here are my front floats.....

Gild:

Your rear skid turned out really, really well.

Why did you interchange the Floats and the Ohlins?????

Wow thanks for the pics, can't wait to hear how it rides!!. May just have to do this on our Viper Mtns.

Why

I changed because of the ride to the Mnts on mogul cratered trails that needed a stiffer suspension and a softer suspension for the Mnts. I wanted quick adjustability and weight saving, besides, I had nothing better to do.
I do not think a well set up Pro Action Suspension is far off any other brand

As far as the Fox Floats on the front I would use Fox Guards on the lower shock tube, rocks and other debris will pit the lower shock tube and destroy the seal, The lower shock tube is the sealing surface.

Hey Gild, what model and length (eyelet to eyelet) Ohlins did you use for that center shock, if you don't mid me asking. Just a stock spring? Was it the RX1 Mnt Pro Action Ohlins??????

Thx,

Mike
