2000 SRX, rode about 25 miles yesterday and the sled just died on the trail, tried to restar, just dead. Tried again in 2 hrs and popped off on first pull. Any ideas, can't see a TORS relation but something got interrupted.
sounds like you got rub thru on your wiring ...try looking at the harness that routes under the motor!

That sounds exactly like an electrical gremlin rub though. Most of the time the culprit is the wiring that runs under your motor.

I'll post this again since the subject has come up. It was fairly easy to prevent this with a piece of the plastic corrugated wire sheathing that is slit up one side. Just cut a V into the slit at one end and you can feed the sheathing over your wiring and run it under the engine wothout disassembling anything. The sheathing protects your wires from chaffing through.

Have you been seeing anyother problems like lights flickering,tach etc etc??

Nope, ran great and just died, sat a couple hours and fired right up. Maybe 30 min. after it died, I tried it, thought I heard it fire but nuttin.

well if it does it again look for rub throughs like said above,good place to start. could be sighns of stator issues on the horizon also.

thought the wife only noticed when I drank to much but she reminded me that it stopped about 3 miles into the ride, just grabbed the rope, and it fired right off, no problem till it went out at the end.
