So Im lookin for a replacement motor or parts for my 2001 sxr700. What other motors will fit? Will a srx700 motor bolt in and would it be ok to use the sxr pipe on it?
An SRX motor will bolt in, but now you will have to change all of the electronics and switch the pcm to accept the SRX motor and the motor must be an '01 or newer for the other electronics to be compatible. "If" you use the srx motor there will be no real added benefit if you use the stock red head pipe as you will have to spend more money on trying to find a set of either cpr pipes or Hauck triple pipes to regain the lost horsepower of using a single pipe.

So what other sleds came with a redheaded motor?
it would be simpler to exclude the ones that didnt. any 700 tripple, 97-to around 03, except viper ,venom and srx.
