Hey, i have an 01' srx 700 that is a real PITA to get started if it sits more than 2 hours. If it has just been ridden and you try to start it, it starts in less than one pull... But anything longer than 2 hours it will not start. I've resorted to just not even bothering with pulling it over anymore when i go to start it in the morning, instead i just pour gas in each cyl and then bada bang bada boom it fires right up as if there is no problem.
I cleaned the carbs, Fixed the wiring harness rub through and put new spark plugs in just 50 miles ago. Still doesnt start when cold.
I notice that i burn through a tad bit more oil than my buddy who has a 99 srx and his starts up in 6 pulls every time no matter how cold it is...
Yes, i cleaned my carbs and triple checked that they were put back togather properly.
What could my problem be? Rich oil pump setting? bad fuel pump? stator? coils? all of the above? lol... how do i narrow it down? once the sled is running its running awesome like i said, isn't there a no return valve int he fuel pump that makes it so fuel doesn't drain out of the carbs? maybe thats an issue?
any insight would be amazing!
Thanks in advance
Joe
