I have just reinstalled my chain case on my 1988 phazer, I also replaced the bearing on the clutch side of the jackshaft. My problem is that when I install the upper gear in the chain case and snug up the nut it seems to pull the jackshaft to far through and I end up with no play in the secondary clutch. I made sure that I have the spacer behind the top spocket. The secondary actually is now rubbing on the jackshaft bearing housing on the clutch side. What did I do wrong.

Its all well now....I discovered that I was missing a washer between the jackshaft bearing and clutch and also the spacer on the bolt that bolts on the secondary clutch.........moral of the story... don't wait two years after dismantling your sled before you put it back together.
