Would a wrist pin puller be required to remove the piston wrist pins on a high mileage SRX engine? The wrist pins came out pretty easily with just finger pressure on the 2000 SRX engine I am rebuilding. I have a 2nd 2000 SRX with high mileage which I will rebuild in the spring/summer. I would think the pins might be harder to remove on higher mileage engines due to the buildup of varnish and deposits in the wrist pin bore on the ends of the piston. Thanks!!

ive used a socket just smaller than the pin and a c clamp for stubborn pins, works and most people have them in their tool arsenal

Yep staggs is right on here, that what I used to tap them out if they get stuck.

not a good idea to tap out wristpins w/socket. just spend the $35 and get a pin puller from somebody. saves you from hurting lower rod bearings.
