Look in the Tech Pages - Snowmobile Tech - Clutches & Jetting - Clutch Tuning & Jetting. Turk has answered your question.

Ok thanks. I was just hoping on some detail on what the setup would do. I just got back from MI today. I noticed my stock viper would rev to 9000 rpm when I pinned it. I dont remember it revving that high. I always keep the clutches clean. Theres over 7000 miles on my sled. Are the springs getting week?

that and/or youre belt is getting worn under spec
The belt rides at spec height in the sheave. How long do springs generally last?

worn clutch springs don't cause over-revving, they cause under-revving.
Ok. What else should I look at? I've ran most of my belts down to the cords and never noticed drastic changes in the way it pulls. I know some people dont like that, but I like to get every mile out of those high priced belts. I think I'm on my third one maybe?

Everything is stock. I've always cleaned my clutches and never changed a thing. Yamaha belts only.

Put a 17.2mm =4.5gram in the tip hole of each weight. should help your over rev.
also try a search on viper clutch set ups.

Also when dialing in clutches it helps to be running a new belt.....after you get it setup then run them down.
Thanks Guys! I'm looking forward to learning more about clutch tuning.
