It's been awhile since I had a Yam 2 stroke and I forgot how far to turn back the chaincase adjustment once it's hand tight, is it 1/2 a turn? Sled is a 98' XT 600. Changing the oil right now so please help! Thanks in advance :o|

I just did mine on my Vmax 700, I have always went about as snug as I can go with just my fingers, but not leaning on it, and then I lock it down. Chain feels pretty darn tight to me.
Hope this helps.

Also, in all my years of riding, I have never had a chain case issue, NEVER, and I've always done it like I described, didn't matter what sled it was on.

Yes,, just finger tight... I then back it off just a tad, not half a turn....

Thanks guys. Had a oil leak as well I diagnosed, what a pain in the arse! Previous owner replaced the oil pump but didn't loctite the cover on the end which also doubles as the mounting bracket for the cable. 1 screw was gone and the other had worked itself halfway out......and I rode it the other day for the first time about 98 miles on the roads around here.......man did I dodge a bullet! Thank goodness I am into RC as I have an extensive stash of tiny hardware. Am I the only tard wrenching late into the night right before a early morning departure?! I need to quit whining, thanks for the advice and have a awesome Christmas.......Braaaaap Braaaaap!!!!!!!!
