Hey, I just got finished putting a riser on the old 97 600 vmax and ordered up a RSI long cable kit and stinkin throttle cable won't work. Its too long and can't get the slack adjusted out of it. They list that it will work on all the older yammies. Can anyone tell me why it won't work on my sled? :o| Thanks.

not sure about your sled but on the viper and mnt viper they are the same just longer. Might be worth looking into mnt max 600 cable if dealership is near by. plus they are only about 25$. worth a shot. If it works post sure others would apprieciate the info. good luck

The RSI cables are NOT for the twin yamaha's only the triples. The cable is to long.Only way to make it work is take end off that goes into your throttle block and cut extra slack off cable and reattach end with solder.Oem Yamaha Mountain Max cables for the twins are same as a standard model so dont waste your money on those either.

From RSI's site

YAMAHA: p/n TC-5
Fits Mountain Max 700, Viper, SRX 700, XTC (Dual cable set, seperate oil and throttle cables)

Hey guys, thanks. Are the throttle blocks thicker on the tripples? Wish RSI would list for 3 cyl. sleds only. So what do the people use for longer cables on the twins? Will MTN Viper cables work?

no block is same.rsi does list that cable's are for 700 models.but should make it more clear like i did on my site.there isnt really a option for 600 twins for longer cables unless you make a custom one or modify the rsi one like i described.
