Does anyone run their SRX with a fixed or locked secondary clutch on the jackshaft? Based on an article in the technical pages by BlueByYou, I ran my 03 RX-1 with a fixed secondary clutch on the jackshaft. The clutches ran cool under all conditions and I was very pleased with the overall clutch performance. Any information is appreciated. Merry Christmas!!

mine uses an external delt adjuster so i think that eliminates the free play or floating. my secondary is cool and the primary is a little warm

Yes, that reminds me, I also installed an external belt adjuster on mt RX1. I bought it so long ago that I don't remember where I bought it from. Are these external belt adjusters still available?? Thanks!!

im not sure if they are still around for yamahas. my sled came with one on the secondary and one for the primary but the one for the primary is junk. the threads are messed up.

what exactly is the disadvantage of having a secondary float a few thou... if a floating secondary ensures a belt that will not bind, why not leave it like that?...
reason I'm asking,,,, when I bought my 02 MM700, the secondary was fixed... Often, my secondary would jam open (in high gear) causing many awkward situations... I realized what was happening and shimmed so the secondary would float a tiny bit... Haven't had a problem since... that was 6 plus years ago....
does it really hurt to allow it to float? tj

I dont think it really matters too much either way it just makes more sence to run it floating, fixed you would want your o/s spot on.
i always run mine floating shimmed to spec.
