just bought a 99 SRX and it starts and idles just fine, but when you bring up the RPM it seems to miss on one cylinder. It doesn't miss everytime but seems to fire occasionly? Don't know what to do next?

definatly clean the carbs esspecially the pilots. i just went through it on my sled.
have cleaned the carbs twice didn't change anything. it is like one cylinder is dropping once in a while. pulling choke does nothing. checked compression and it is 125 across them.
could it be something like a stator?

try plugs. i cleaned my carbs before the season. they were as clean as new. first ride it was bogging bad and would barley move. took carbs off and 2 of 3 pilots were plugged. used a bread bag tie to run through them and it runs great now.
Could be bad plug cap,,, try and determine which cylinder is giving you problems..

what rpms does it start to miss@
starts to miss around 4000 RPM. I had my local dealer clean the carbs, to make sure it wasn't that. Put in new plugs. Reeds seemed to be ok. i was told if they were bad it wouldn't idle good. Really stumped.
