My 2002 viper has been down and apart a few years now. I had a suspension/ track blow out than some health issues. So I am back on it, things are coming back to me and are moving along(I have the book and parts man.). BUT hit a snag as I was getting ready to reinstall drive chain case back on was reviewing all my bolts and nuts and such to see if I missed anything, I got a Bolt with a hole clean through it, maybe for oil flow . It has a #12 head on it and is exactly 1 3/4 inches long. not sure where it goes and don't want to close things and oil it up and have to take apart again THANKS in advance

I've never seen any bolts like that and I've had the chaincase all apart also. Are you the original owner? If not, maybe another owner replaced it with that bolt that was sitting around or something.
take a picture of the part and post it. We might be able to tell you where it goes.
I agree with Fluffer, post a pic it may help jog our memory!tomseal6 said:take a picture of the part and post it. We might be able to tell you where it goes.

Should we see pic's?? May have to try again.
It is the bolt that holds the speedo gear on the left hand end of the jackshaft. It needs the hole, to let air out when you thread it in the shaft. Maxdlx
I am trying
never attached pictures before on any forum trying to learn. The upload tool keeps saying my file is too big? tried to reduce it can someone lead in the right direction for this?

for future reference on the pics
the easiest for me is to load them on photobucket.com and copy and paste the img code here (or any forum)

Have another question
The linkage mounted on the drive gear case (for reverse) Does it get mounted on the other linkage towards the side cover or towards the engine. Like I said earlier in my post my time is limited so just getting back to it thank you in advance
