Just wondering what amount of HP is gained by doing the free mods on a vmax 700. I think they are around 112-115 HP stock. With all else remaining the same on the sled, what do you gain HP wise by doing the 1 or 2 layer head gasket mod, bored silencer, and reed notch. Just wondering if anyone ever dynoed before and after to see what kind of gains you REALLY see...
Was thinking of doing the gasket mod and reed notch, my silencer has already been done by previous owner. Saw it when I changed my chaincase fluid the other day.

Thanks for any help...;

Never did it my self i'm a stock guy but keep in mind doing the H/G mod you should run premium fuel from there on out because of the added comp. and with today's crappie fuel one don't know what your really getting,the reed notch mehh maybe yea to help with low end, both probably would only yield less then 10hp gain.

i would avoid the HG mod and focus on clutching/dialing that in. just my $.02.

4-5 hp on a good day. Nothing you can really feel. Raisng compression is more bottom end & throttle response.

I'll probably just leave it alone then, and just do some clutching when I get a bit more $$ to play around with.

Thanks

I was talking to a guy today who said he did all three mods at once and said the throttle response was fantastic.
