Do
- 74-75 GPX's and 76 SRX's and/or
- 77-80 SRX ignitions have straight advance curves or do they retard as they increase in RPM's like the modern ignitions.
I know some of them have rev limiters and some do not.
Thanks in advance...

74-75 GPX AND 76 SRX WERE VERY CLOSE. 77 SRX WAS ANIMAL ALL OF ITS OWN WITH STRAIT ADVANCE THAT CAN RUN 10,200. 78-79-80 SRX ALSO HAD RETARD TIMING ADVANCE AT HIGH RPM. 3:16 (yammie tony)
Were the 78-80 SRX advance retard just used as a rev limiter or did it progressively retard throughout the curve?
Also, Were the GPX's a staight curve?

To answer your question, the 74-76 GPX, Exciter, and SRX's were similar and are a "fixed setting" ignition. The 77 SRX and the 78 SSR are the same with an advancing ignition that is at full advance around 5500 RPM's and is back to below 0 at 9500 RPM's. The 78, 79, and 80 ignitions may have a slight advance to them but I am not sure as I have never checked. None of them have a rev limiter in them. They are extremely durable and with any care it is very unlikely to have one go bad. Nothing compared in that era.
