ok i got a 94 v-max that i installed a 96 xt rear skid into years ago. problem being the skid is totalled. im thinking it is not cost effective to fix this skid as the front arm is bent and broken and all bushing are gone. will the later model (97 and newer) bolt right into the sled seeing how it already had a pro-action (earlier style) in it ? thinking of just trying to find a newer viper skid. are the older pro-actions the same width as the newer style ? its basically a back up ditch banger so sinking a ton of money into it is outta the question.

I installed a 02 viper skid in my 96 vmax xt,the viper skid is narrower I made some shims. I also took measurment's off of an 02 viper to relocate the center and rear shaft mounting location's.Sled rides a lot better!

Well if you look around, you may be able to find a Polioaris, Arctic Scrap, or Ski-Don't skid for about the same price as a No-Action. Cost you a few hours time, and maybe $20 bucks in hardware for a much better ride...

Just make sure if you go this route to look up what other members have installed for a skid and choose the right one for you.

Just a suggestion

I pm'ed you on how I did mine, but you might wan't to check out the thread in tech faq ,how to install a proaction retrofit into older sleds by ejcamero. There are more precise measurment's on mounting the rear bracket's with the three hole's.
