hello everyone
first post here on the forums.
i purchased 2 sleds recently as a project that will keep me busy and out of trouble for the next little while!
1989 exciter 570 with electric start - fire damage.
wiring harness, tank cover, plastic side cover by chaincase all destroyed.
front drive sprocket - wheels melted.
track got a little toasty....
all cables burnt - throttle, choke, etc...
but motor runs excellent! repaired the wires going into the stator and was good to go!
rear suspension seems ok
1992 exciter II (no electric start)
basically a stripped down chasis with ski's and body panels.
seat, fuel tank, cab, tank cover all good.
parts missing:
track, rear suspension, front drive sprocket
i have the engine, wiring harness and exhaust already in the newer body and it's running fine with the exception of the exhaust... the exit port would need to be modified as it's not even close to the exit hole in the body.
my question is:
is there much difference between these 2 models/years?
would the rear suspension bolt into the 92?
should i replace my front sprockets or find a used shaft?
and would the 89's front sprocket fit the 92's?
here's a few pic's i have of them.
first ones are the burnt sled.

Old post so I don't know if you are still kicking around. I have two Exciters and was going to buy a 93 Exciter II for parts but I don't know how interchangable they are. Skis? Pipe?
