76 pistons

The obvious is the pin size. You need a 76 or 77 bottom end to use these pistons.

seems there always is a zillion opinions when it comes to these sleds. LOL. 1976 SRX WRISTPIN DIA IS DEFFERENT. ALSO 76 SRX USED A DEFFERENT RING. RING FOR 76 WAS FLAT CLOSE TO GPX, WHERE 77-78-79-80 USED SLOPED RING. ROB, I DON,T CARE WHAT FUEL YOU RUN, BUT IF YOU LISTEN TO ANYBODY ON HERE AND RUN TODAYS CRAP PREM FAKE OCTANE JUNK, YOUR GONNA RUIN THIS MOTOR. RUN RACE FUEL BUD. 3:16 (yammie tony)

The cylinder studs are also a larger diameter on the 79. You will need to drill out the 76 cylinder head mounting stud holes to get them to work. Jeff Wurl

Do exactly as you are asking and it will run great! You will have to drill the heads like Jeff said and run Av gas or race fuel. There was no grief on the fuel question so don't worry about it. btw, that was me that you outbid for the heads. Good job!

sorry dude, wanted them realy bad. i threw a bid of $299.99 at them on the end. think I ended up with $130.00 shipped to my door in them.

I'm not sure why I wanted them because they were too good to cut for what I need some for so I am glad you got them. Be sure to CC them so you know what you have. Because he can feel a lip doesn't mean they haven't been cut. I have 45 76-80 heads and don't think I paid more then $30 each for any of them. If anyone has a cut pair of 8A7 heads I am interested.
