Hey guys...looking for some advise......took my 98 700 venture for first ride today. We just got about 30 inches of new snow here and I was on a twiaty skinny trail and all of a sudden...yam...hit a stump that was hidden in snow. only going maybe 10 mph. Stump caught my left side ski and it spun ski around. Limped it home after I kicked the ski back. Looked over when home and there doesn't appear to be anything broke or cracked. Tie rod bent. Top of spindel where tie rod bolts bent. Is there any chance of heating these up and bending them back into shape or should I change them? Also should I rip the front left side steering apart and inspect to see if anything else is messed up? Not a mechanic and pretty new to sleds. Any advise or direction would be greatly appreciated. Thanks troutman

Remove the spindle from the trailing arm and make sure it isn't bent also. I personal would not heat these parts up and straighten them out I would replace them. Just post in the wanted section what parts you will need and there will be someone on this site that will have them.

Thanks for the replies guys. Ripped it apart this am and found the tie rod end is really bent and the plate where the swivel and tie rod connects is bent. Anyone know what this palte is called? Anyone know where to find good used parts for a quick fix? Thanks again.
