just curious i took my brothers 99 sx 600 out of the barn today to put in my garage to clean it up and i noticed when im accelerating i feel/hear a clunking noise. Dnt really know how to describe it except it kinda feels/sounds like when you have belt start falling apart. My brother said it has been doing it for awhile i just want it fixed before i take him up north. Any ideas? Any clutch maintece that should be done to these sleds?? thanks

My clutch was rattling last weekend & i found one of the rollers in the primary had a junk bushing, start shaking things around & see if you can narrow it down.

check belt for flat spot or shredding, check track deflection you may be ratcheting on acceleration.
as far as the clutch i pull em off and look everything over rollers, weights ,etc make sure things are tight not slopped out(bushings)

Is the sled moving while it makes the noise? Maybe drive axle bearing on speedo side.

yes it is moving when it does it. I will try to check the belt deflection it is like its racheting. It shouldnt be the drive bearing we put a brand new track and bearing on less than 1k miles ago. sled has almost 6k miles now. Sprockets are in good shape
If you check through all the things other have suggested and cant find the problem check the locking coller behind the drive shaft bearing on the speedo side to be sure it is not loose and moving around on you.
