I seem to have recently gotten a handlebar vibration on my Apex Mountain. After closer inspection of the primary clutch I noticed this. Seems like the right side (in the red box) has a little chip to it. Would this cause my bad vibration? I mean I rode like ~4 miles and my hands just tingled.

Sorry for the bad pic.

Called a stopper on parts breakdown. 8V0-17639-00-00 is the piece we are looking at.

Well rode it 9 miles back home, not taking it easy or anything, still noticed a little vibration but I don't think it was as bad. Also I noticed vibration in my feet. Sled has 1350 miles on it. Not sure if the vibration has always been there or not. Might just be now that I'm actually feeling for it and not just goin out and riding, is there always a little vibration in this sled? Bearing somewhere? Loose track clips or rail tips?

Primary was cool enough to touch when I got home. Put a different belt on before I rode it. Gonna check the belt out in the morning for marks or anything, and I'll take better pics of what I posted earlier. Also gonna give the track and rails a good look over.

THe Stopper comes in 2 piece and I believe there is a gap when put together. Not sure if that would cause your vibration seeing it is so close to the center of the shaft. Does it vibration while it just idle or do you have to be moving? Could be a lot of things if it is only when your moving.

Yea I saw the stopper breakdown on parts list. We looked at my uncles Vector and his gap was the same, just mine looks like a lil teeny tiny chip at the top part. And there is a vibration at idle but I was thinkin this is just the nature of the beast (Apex).

I'm really doubting a fouled plug, but I guess I could check it. Here is a close up of piece in question. Right side looks slightly chipped to me. Also as a recommendation from the 4 stroke site I check the rubber things at the tips of the rails and they are loose. Could this cause vibration?

Also belt looked fine after close inspection this morning.

In my opinion the chip is negligible, in that it is on the inside of the rotating mass, or the clutch. If you are getting vibration in your feet when only in motion then I would say that the problem lies in the drivetrain. It could be a bearing somewhere or a clump of ice that is stuck in the tunnel. Now then, what are the rubber things at the end of the rails? Do you mean at the front of the suspension rails? The reason that I mentioned a fouled plug was that you said that the vibration seemed to be better as you rode it back to wherever you were headed. Mechanical issues don't get better, they just get worse. I would remove the belt, jack up the back of the sled, loosen the track, and pull the track by hand and see how it feels. If it is hard to pull, then I would look for a bad bearing on the cog shaft first. If you loosen the track enough, get a grip on the shaft on the speedo shaft and see if it feels tight. If there is play in that area, then that would be the bad one. That bearing will give you vibration mostly in your left foot.

Yup the rubber things at the front of the rails. The vibration may have been a little better due to no ice being on the sled. But yea thats the first thing I'm checking today is my drive axle bearings.

Well I rode it all day today, I think what I'm feeling is just normal and that I shouldnt worry about it. It may have just been some ice buildup.

I've the same thing happen out on a ride.Ice build up on the skid (usually the back wheels) and a piece comes off and then the vibration starts. You stop and check everything and can't see anything wrong.Chip the ice away and it seem to be better but now your paranoid of any littlte noise or vibration.
The worst is when the tunnnel decides to shed the ice buildup. Makes a wicked noise and shudder and you think what the #*&^ happened now!

Yea that's how I think I was, just any little vibration I'm paranoid about, but when I was out today just riding and having a good old time with my buds, I didn't notice it one bit.
