when i start my sled it sometimes takes up to five mins for the guages and headlight to turn on, n other times they come on right away ! any help would be great ! wat could cause this ? or does evey srx do this in the cold ?

Its a relay sticking. They are 2 cylinder shaped parts located on the right side by your knee. In with the CDI just behind secondary clutch. Sometimes bringing them inside helps as they can get moisture in them and freeze. Warm them up using something that isn't too hot to damage them.

so if i used something such as a hair dryer it wouldnt damage them ? n you say their on the right side but u also said their behind the secondary clutch ? lol thanx for the info

Sorry, left side. Guess I was sitting on the sled backwards lol. Probably best just to put them inside where its warm and dry just to dry them a bit. Hair dryer probably wouldn't do any damage but not sure. Basically just get them up to room temp and let them sit for awhile and dry. If you still have the issue then they may need replaced. I know on very cold days mine stick a bit when first starting but after a few minutes of the sled running they work and are fine the rest of the day. Hope this helps. #35 and 36 in the attached diagram.

I had the same problem and no one in this area could help me. I brought inside to warm up and the problem disappeared. The only problem I have now is the warning light stays on. I checked everything out and can't find problem. Can you help!!

We'll could be a problem with the low oil sensor or possibly a wiring harness issue. Check your wiring harness for rub-throughs especially where it runs under the motor. A problem with the relays would not have any effect on the warning light but your problem with the lights and gauges may be related to a wiring harness issue. What year SRX do you have?
