Just quick question. I bought new carbides for my skis on my 98 700sx. Of course it didn't originally come with plastic skis someone added them. So I bought carbides for a 98 SRX. The studs are placed differently. Anyway, can I move the stud on the front of the ski from the rear front hole on the ski bracket to the front hole in the bracket. I assume I can just drive the stud (one of the 2 that are just anchored in the ski) out and reposition it. But I just wanted to check.

steel skis use a different carbide.do you have plastic skis now ? if so what year, model from ? yamaha used acouple different patterns in those years.98-99 srx will only fit those years.

Yes. I have plastic skis now. I bought carbides 2 years ago, but they are worn out. I got the right ones back then but don't remember what i got. The studs on the old carbides have the 2 studs on the front closer together, the new ones are spaces the same from front to back. I was wondering if I can just push the bolt back through the ski and move it to the other hole then it looks like the carbides would fit.

I would bring in your old carbides to match them up, your dealer should have good inventory to do this for you. How many holes are in your skis for the runner? Is there a slot in the front of the ski for the runner tip to slip into?
This will help with the year and age of ski
