Hey guys is it just me but every year I seem to underestimate the srx before the first ride.
I finally had time to do my carbs/powervalves and clutches on my 2002 and go for the maiden ride of the year. WOW!!!!
My God is this thing ridiculous!!!...Hit the throttle and hold on!! HAHA

Kudoos to yamaha on this machine once again. wow!

Yeah, I went from a stock 96 V-MAX 600 XT which is not record breaking fast to a 02 VIPER with a clutch kit and pipes M-10 suspention ect...
That thing is FAST like holy shit fast.. We ride on ice alot and when you blow by your friends as their topped out It makes you smile....

Yep, I hear ya chris. This year I was contemplating "upgrading" and as soon as I hit the throttle on the SRX those thoughts vanished. Awsome sleds.

I keep telling my riding buddies that there is a HUGE difference in this SRX triple compared to there twin powered sleds they don't believe me they just say it yours and you think it's fast but I already don't like ridng twins, I just love this TRIPLE POWER PLANT definately ONE of the BEST

BEST THERE IS, BEST THERE WAS, BEST THERE EVER WILL BE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have to agree. I still remember the first time I drove my SRX. It was the closest feeling to a sportbike I ever experienced.
Still, I am interested to see what the next SRX will be like???

i heard 2013 new srx 4 cyl clean burn 2 stroke in the 190 hp range
i also heard the world is going to end dec 21 2012 so we'll never get to ride em
that's funny! I have to agree with all comments. It would be nice to double the fuel economy but... My brother in-law bent an a-arm on his Apex this week. He said that the first part he had to take off to get to the bolt that holds the A-arm in place is the seat! Sounds like a lot of work to me! For the long distance type riding I do, the Apex would be my choice right now, but it's time for something else from Yamaha. I know 150 Hp should be enough, but I don't like it when the other brands have something with more power! I'd love it if they came out with another one called SRX.

After replacing a grenaded cylinder last year and putting stock heads back on the motor, I got to tool around on it a bit when it snowed here. Having read the rave reviews on the speed of this beast, I was a little dismayed that my machine just wasn't performing to its full potential - it really didn't seem to "hit" when I whacked the throttle wide open.

FFWD to this season, and I'm getting the sled ready. I had some trouble starting it, and looking at the plugs they seemed ready to be replaced anyway. I bought and installed new NGKs, and it fired up quite readily after that. So, then I went out in the fields and whacked the throttle open and...

OH SH!T, does that front come off the ground quick!!! :-)

Seems like that was the last little bit it needed to complete the repair from last season. We're gonna have some fun, this Winter ;)!
