I can't get the clutch off my f-i-l's 95 Indy 600 tripple. We found out we had the wrong puller (it was right in the Martin book.) So we have the right one now. We put a little heat on the clutch. We put some grease in before the puller. I've tapped the puller with the hammer while it was under pressure.

I'm out of ideas. Right now the puller is in and "loaded" and waiting for us to come back up. I hope to have some suggestions from you guys.

fill it whith grease until you can barely get the puller in, ad lots of heat and give it good smacks with a hammer.make sure you use a impact gun or its hopeless.if that doesnt work check your puller again.

Ya those P-85's can be stubborn. I just had the same problem with my 96 xlt.
follow Pistol Pete's info .Keep filling that thing full of grease and hit it with the impact gun. It may take a bunch of attempts. If all else fails put a little heat on the shaft too. use map gas "But don't heat it up so much that it starts changing color"

We'll have to take the impact up with us next time. I'll have to pump more grease in there. The first puller was a 2 piece and alot shorter than the newest one we got. Time to bust out some tools!

Four foot breaker bar. Hold your ears and close your eyes.

I personally would not take an impact gun to it. It only took one broken flywheel for me to stop doing that.
