Hi all,
English is not my first language (Im Dutch living in Poland) and do not understand all the technical terms so good.
Anyway, I have and love my Yamaha MM700 with nothing special on it. :2strokes: I am riding with a group of people who are experienced drivers have the latest machines etc. You get the picture and I am always trailing to get up with them. I think some optimum settings have to be changed for the type of riding we do. B0t I am no expert on this. We are driving off track in mountains with deep snow and a lot of maneuvering between the trees and deadly jumps to make it to the other side of the roads, obstacles, fallen trees. My feeling is that it is difficult to turn as if the front skis are sliding over the snow to much and secondly many times I am getting stuck into the snow and they have to dig the machine out. I also know my technique need improvmeents but i am getting better and realise 99% is my technique :)
The maximum speed the mm700 of flat snow was reaching was 65Mph. Is this the max. speed or need it improvements in settings.
What and how should I set my limit straps, my front shocks and other things?
Is there somethign i have to change or check to have it set for the environment.
How do i know if my settings are right for the altitude were riding.
Is there a manual where I can learn this and do not have to ask noob questions for the community to bother with my problems.

And one more thing...........
H-A-P-P-Y N-E-W Y-E-A-R from snowy Poland mountains!!! :letitsnow

Hm that wasn't a high top speed. When the trail is packed I can get 87 mph out of my mountainmax with a 2 inch paddle track. When the trail isn't packed, I get 74 mph of it.

Welcome to TY

I was in your shoes before joining this site. The tech section of this site has alot of info on setting clutches, jetting, alignment etc. I would first check my clutch alignment, had a 99 600 MM that was out and what a difference once the motor was aligned. Then go in and check jetting. Clutch weights next...all of these will cost you nothing with a little time and patience and TY advice. Past that, sending money. I found my best dollars were spent on pipes, not going into the debate of which are best, but I have a set of benders that make a world of difference on power. Second is track, go there if you are doing some serious powder riding, just trail, stock will get you by. Search transfer rod settings to work with getting you front end up in powder or down on river riding.
Be prepared to spend a few hours on here deciding what you need to do, the search feature will get you where you need to be, rarely do you need to ask as we have all had the same problems at one time or another. Welcome to TY and would like to hear about riding in Poland and some pics of you and your friends...salute

Thank you for the great pointers!
Will definitely take the road you suggested and enjoy and learn from it too.
