anyone having problems with C@A ski loops breaking?

I have a pair of C@A that the loops bolt to the skis with on bolt going down into the ski. I had a yellow set on and 10 miles into the ride a loop broke. When we got back to the garage I put on a back up set of black ones I had. Yesterday one of those broke. :o| This is only the third ride with these skis and I've been through two loops. Didn't hit anything with them. temps were 34 both days. Wondering if anyone else has had this happen.
 

no clue, thats extremely wierd.... even races dont break them that often, watching hours of snocross footage, ive only seen maybe 5 or 6 broken loops..... are you sure you have them mounted correctly? on my skis, there are 2 holes for the rear bolt on the handle to sit, it should go in the front one.....
 
I've broken one before while trying to pull on the ski to get the sled unstuck. Maybe they were already cracked and the ride finished them off???
 
they can only be mounted one way. They are the old style with one hole for the front. I was lucky enough to have two sets but now I have one black and one yellow. I would buy a new set but don't wanna spend $45 and have it break the first time out. Here's a link to the set of skis I have.

they are a lot cleaner now.
 
Have they been exposed to much summer sun?I've heard of 'em weakening and braking after alot of sun exposure.It seems like about ten years ago cat had something about this with there skis weakening and they said to limit how much sun there exposed to over the summer, just a thought.
 
well third ride today and broke another. The first set was on the sled and did see sun time but the second set was in my closet the whole time. I'm going to get a new set from Rich and if those break I'm selling the skis :o|

maybe you ski is warped? and when you put it on it is flexing the handle too much.

if the ski looks bent unusual, take it in the bath tub with hot water, heat it up, and bend it back to its original shape, then cool it, with snow or water....

I looked at them and they looked the same but really didn't do a close inspection. I will check them out better. Just aggravating since it's the only Yami in our group and my loops keep breaking.
