My son rolled my 1998 600 SX last winter. I bought some
used parts including new brake master cyl from the good
folks on this forum. I am now installing and getting
ready for this winter. Couple questions:
1) I am installing the brake line to brake master cyl. What type
of gasket is needed to keep it from leaking where the upper brake
line is attached to fitting and then to master cyl on handlebar ?
It looks like a simple copper ring gasket but it was leaking around
this copper gasket on my old master cyl after my son rolled it.
Are you suppossed to use some type of plumber putty or equivalent
on the threads where it screws into the master cyl ?
2) What is the best way to bleed the brakes when I put in
new brake fluid ? I see two nipples with rubber covers on the
top of the brake assembly in the engine compartment. Are these
the bleeder screws and I bleed both of them ? I am familiar
on bleeding a car and should be similar ?
3) Assuming use a standard DOT 3 brake fluid ?
Thanks
