Machine shop guy just called, and asked me if I wanted him to machine down the plastic that is covering a part of the threaded end of the shaft
My question is how much room is needed or "how much from end of shaft to start of driver in mm or inches"? He says there's a good 5/8 from end of shaft to cog on the outer driver and it lines up to his marks. The new drivers have this lip, the old ones do not.
The nut on threaded end is very narrow, and i recall there wasnt a lot of thread showing when it was tight.
I am going to snag the shaft from him tomorrow and test fit it to check, but this sled only uses a tiny bearing (60/22) on the speedo side, and these 2 brass brackets that sandwich it together.
For anyone thats done it or better yet has an exciter drive shaft removed from the sled, Id appreciate a few meaurments
Cheers
