I've noticed more and more lately, that when I go to start my sled in the colder weather (5 deg and below) my tach and lights don't start with the sled. Has anyone had this happen? I'm sort of curious as to what is causing this.
I've checked all the connections, and made sure that there's no shorts. The lights and tach are only off for a minute or two, until the sled is starting to get warm. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Could be your head light relay not 100% on a venom but right side blue relay, could be freeezing slightly till warm. common on srx with moisure issues

My Viper, and Dad's SRX do the same thing when it is really cold out (-20 C ) or colder but I think in our case it is because the engine is so cold it will only initially barely idle until it warms up, So I think the idle is too low to put out enough power for the lights.

It never has any problems idling, when the lights are out. The sled seems to start and run great, but no power to the tach or light. Thanks for the input.

I'd check the relay like daman stated. I've never heard of that problem but I believe it.
There are a few relay issues on the 4 strokes so it would not surprise me if it's frost/ice on the relay contacts. Under hood temps get high enough or there is enough vibration to clear the frost/ice and voila, lights work.
