hi everyone i was wondering if i could get some help? my sled has awsome power but every now and then if i hit the throttle and let off and hit it again the
sleds power cuts out i stop let the revs fall below 3000 rpm and i'm good to go
again could it be the valves need cleaning? there is an oily residue on and around the cables also what compression should i have? any info would be very very appreciated as i don't know a whole lot about fixing sleds but want to learn and can't afford to take it to a dealer thanks much

sounds like thors is kicking in .....unplug the 2 brown wires from the top of the carbs and plug them into each other on the wire harness end ...to complete the circuit ...if that stops the problem means you need to adjust your throttle cable ....most likely too tight .keep in mind this overides the safety switch not recommended ..for long term riding ...seen bad things happen when bypassed and throttle sticks open and sled takes off wide open throttle into a tree or what ever might be in front of it ......valves need cleaned at least once a year the more the better or they will stick and you will pull the cables thru the ends (than you will be sending them to me to have them fixed ) compression numbers will vary from tester to tester depending on the size of adapter used ...should be looking for 120 ish .....but you want to make sure all 3 are close ....3 to 5 good pulls per cylinder ,throttle wide open....all plugs removed .....hope this answers a few of your question .....

+1 on the TORS. I had this too when I adjusted my throttle cable too tight on one of my previous sleds.
Always a good idea to clean the power valves before the season. Mine looked pretty carboned up at 1500 miles using Amsoil Interceptor oil. Worked smooth, but a lot of carbon around the sides. Lots of good write ups in the garage section and a good way to spend time learning your sled. I found two pulled through power valves before the season last year that I had a member here fix with stainless steel inserts.
