I don't know what is going on with the sliders on this machine but seems like that every pair i put on it seems to burn them out .and doesn't matter if the are from Yamaha i have tried them all.. hp ones right from the dealer or cheap *** ones. I checked the rails they look to be in good condition not bent, the Idler wheels all in good condition, nothing bent broken the track is not tight .but last year something changed. that all i can say.! this was never a problem before i could go 2 seasons without putting a slider on ? what gives?? funny how the go but they wear out almost mid point of the skid frame and around the front outside idler wheels. I just put on a new set and they are already done. and i have been riding in nothing but powder conditions this makes no sence i could see if i was riding on hard pack icey trails then i could blame it on that ..ahhh .now the work again to clean the track clips from all the melted plastic. I'm baffled i don't know what to do...... anyone..???? have any ideas what might be the Problem ?? Please Someone Help..!!!!

what your skid set up like? I never had a problem with slides wearing up front until I set my skid up for maximum transfer an then it ate the slides at the curve. I would loosen up your track some...Try 1" of sag in the middle between outside idlers and the rear. I have learned to dive for snow. It helps me out. I just put on a marginal snow kit on mine and I am curious to see what happens with that but I read nothing but good things. How far are they wearing? Are you breaking them in, by heating them up and diving for snow right away? Track alignment right? Check every track clip for wear if they are sharp they with eat hyfax in no time!!

wear

22 lbs of pull at the center of the track with 1" deflection. Make sure ALL your clips are present on the track.

Thanx Riverrunner for your input to be honest with you i never changed nothing in my setup the sled was so dialed in ...i setup this sled 3 years ago and just to the end of last year the sled started to eat sliders for no reason ? i did temper the sliders when i ran it last weekend . and i know that the track tension, alignment is good. that machine i know what happens when the track is tight.... and when its too loose you always have to have the perfect balance between the two. the only thing that had changed last year was the front pivot arm that broke and costed me a track so i put in a new ripsaw 1.25 full clipped all open window.with the clip pockets that retain snow or ice to help lube the sliders if anything i would think this would be a aid for the sliders ..right ? I can tell you is that the track clips from last weekends ride are blue something is not right this track is 1 year old next month ..???

Another thing guys....... just a shot here but could a bad Bump shock cause this problem ?? its one thing that i might of overlooked .

Tj500 you mean the rear idlers ? of all of them in general ? 4 of them i had changed but if you look at them they are all in good condition .

Maybe! You got me stumped......Have you had your skid out when you do slides? Is the skid sitting flat on the ground? Whats your ski pressure like?

Riverrunner Ski Pressure Is good Machine handles like its on rails ... all the shocks are Ohlins piggy back clicker front, and in the skid . right now the skid is sitting on the floor i have it outa the machine right now inspecting it and replacing some worn Bushings that have some play but nothing serious... Its got me what the hell...!!!!! i'm no nubie with sleds.. ??

is your limiters on the w arm set the same as before? that is how mine was untill i sucked up the front limiters 1/2".
