We have a 99 SRX that has been rebuilt with wiseco pistons and is in very nice shape...stock pipes, etc. but seemingly has an electrical issue. It will miss at higher rpms (on occassion...) and now we are seeing other electrical issues which are strange as well. The sleds gauges will not work until it gets warm...and the oil light flashes seven times.
We have tried the following;
fuel pump
gauge assembly
coil pack
light relay
We are really confused on what to try next. Any suggestions? Was their a wiring harness update in 99?
Thanks!

There wasn't an update but these sleds have a habit of wearing through the main wiring harness that goes under the engine. All kinds of odd electrical things can happen depending on what wires have worn through and touched other wires or ground. I would remove if possible the main harness, clean it good, and give it a THOROUGH inspection. take each wire and rotate it so that you can see the side that you wouldn't normally be able to see. Good luck

thanks...that is what I was thinking. If not mistaken, if it was a stator it wouldnt run good or at all. When it runs...it runs. Miss is becoming more of an issue.
Thanks again!
