my brother in laws sled only runs good on choke takes it off and boggs like crazy i havent seen or rode it so not sure where do i start to look

Without a doubt clean that carb. Pilot jet would be plugged. Doesn't hurt to check the float setting.

also blow air through the pilot circut to verify that all of the holes you see at the butterfly are clear. If those are blocked it will only run well at idle. It will run fine at full throttle if the jetting is rich.
Too many people think the pilot circut only effects idle. Your low speed effects all of your jetting. Change only the pilot jet 3 sizes and a dyno will tell you that you also changed the main jet.
2 other quirks with the SR5 (that's a roman numeral not a V), they loose electrical ground through a harmonic and there intake airflow is wicked. Place a secondary ground strap from the engine to the frame and always install the reed stops, no matter what reeds you use.
