01 srx the cdi seems to be the ground side for the load control relay should there be a ground at the cdi lightbrown/white wire at all times because i meter it and there is no ground i do have engine ground at cdi, does the cdi only allow relay to close if it sense no load problems or all the time??? If i should have a ground source at all time i am figuring cdi is bad. it stated with a start stall unless i touched the throttle a lil then it would start lights and everything working, unplug the load control relay it would start without stalling. Now i have no lights at all at no time and starts fine but the relay is not closing because no ground at cdi if i manually ground relay light come on but i didn't keep it grounded long incase there is a reason for this problem.
make sure u doesnt have rubb wire under the motor...sounds like it

the CDI supplies the switching/controlling ground to the load control relay... Unless sled is running and all condiitions are met, you may not see a ground with a multimeter on that wire...
as suggested above, sounds like a short/rub through on the load side of the Load Control Relay.. tj
