2002 viper er Shortly after sled warms up the warning light along with the temperature light flash 8 times repeatedly. Can't find code for 8 flashes and does not seem to effect the performance. I know some other have had same thing. What are some causes?

check your servo motor ,powervalves and cables I think 8 flashes is telling you the servo is locked or not operating
Just read in the tech section. 7 flashes is the P/V's. It does not show anything for 8 flashes.

Stein your right on the seven flashes got mixed up. It has been a while since I looked. but I did a search oline and found another viper doing the same and the advice that was given was the same as what I just gave may not be the problem but it is a start and is easy to miss count a flash.
I'm guessing this could be the rub-through problem many have discussed...do a search and you'll find something there I'm sure. I actually have the same problem and will be working on it today.
However, mine flashes eight times as soon as it's started (warning and coolant). I'll report back on what I find.
How's the snow by you anyway Goathead? I'm going riding tomorrow and I don't know if I'm going to MI, IN or WI.

Spent all last night looking for a rub through and I'm positive it is 8 flashes after it warmed up. It does sometimes quit when on a long run for a while. Powervalves are clean and adjusted. I'm going crazy trying to figure it out. Hard to sell with the light flashing!!
Snow is good in the fields and ditch banks but we don't ride our sleds here much. Headed to MI next week myself.
