I have a 2008 RS Vector GT (40th). I bought it used with 420 miles on it last year but did not have a chance to ride it as we lost the snow rapidly. I started it up twice during the summer. Noticed no oil at this time.
Rode it for the first time last Thursday, about 10 miles to get the "Feel" of it. When I got back, noticed a drip of oil under the sled. All together about 20 seperate drips of oil at 4 different locations. Near the access panel under the sled (to access the filter)
Took off all three cowlings and did a visual, all OK. Checked the level of the oil tank, all OK. Oil was up to the "H" indicator. Dropped the lower access panel and filter and oil drain plug looks OK. Did notice a drop of oil hanging on a allen bolt that connects to the engine. Oh! I did a finger sweep of the lower panel inside the access panel and I did feel oil.
Any suggestions? 430 miles (10 miles by me) on the darn sled and looks like I have to take it in for an inspection.
How is Ski-Doo and Polaris models? More reliable?

you found a few drips of oil and your asking how reliable the sled IS?? you got a warranty take it in and have it checked,it's nothing serious but needs a solution.

Could be anything better have it checked over. Maybe someone spilled some oil while filling it maybe something loose it not a big deal should still be under warrany like Daman said. Is this your first Yammi? Probably the most relaible brand out there and for sure they have the best fit and finish of any brand. Its all in how you take care of them.

Hey! Thanks for the replies!
I am going to take it into the Yamaha Dealer/Service place and have them look at it. I do have a question.
Daman says the sled is junk, but Max you report Yamaha makes the most reliable sled?
Just confused.
Once again thanks for the replies.
