As you can see, this ignition sensor is not factory installed.
The sled is a 2000 srx but the #’s on the engine don’t match, I think the case is a 98-99 and the stator was from the original 2000, ????
Would anyone know the spec. for the distance between the ignition sensor and the flywheel triggers?

Looks like you got a fixed case my guess is that someone used a 98/99 crankcase with a 2000 and up stator and flywheel not sure on the distance between pickup coil and flywheel

I just happen to have a 2002 SRX engine sitting on the bench with the recoil off.
Clearance between case mounted sensor and flywheel raised triggers: = .030"
Hope that helps!
Awsome..thanks sideshow, I looked all over, and really didnt want to ask. apreciate it.
So I guess for now, I'll put a .030 shim and weld another washer on the other side lol..unfortunatelly the sensor is only sold with the stator..$300.00.
How much of a pain is it to pull the flywheel with the engine in the sled?
I've had the engine on my bench since christmas, just want to put it back together and go for a ride.

Not too big of a deal[but you might have problems working in the tight confines to fabricate new mounts for the trigger?]:
-remove exhaust
-remove the bolt in bulkhead piece above recoil
-remove recoil
-remove recoil cage
-pull flywheel
I have pulled the flywheel in the sled numerous times to install + remove timing advance keys, but I have not had to work on the stator or trigger with engine in the sled.

crank trigger
thanks for all the post guys...helps out alot!, jabber yes it was slotted for advance timing but assume its in stock position, but the holes were larger than the bolts! thanks guys
