so, i blew up the belt on my gp the other day, and since i didnt have my spare with me at the time i used the spare off of my 96 vmax 600 it was a long shot and i was literally a half a mile away from my trailer. so i knew that the vmax belt seemed a bit longer than the gp so i was hoping to mcguyver it back to the trailer, ended up running faster and better! now, is there any reason for me to worry about running with that belt on there? or should i put the other belt i have for the gp on it???

Here's another longshot. I had that problem with my ss440. I killed that belt. My uncle gave me his spare from his '03 Viper. It came to life, like big time. He's been around Yammies all his life and he told me that a Yamaha belt is a yamaha belt. He said that the only difference is some of the newer belts have perpendicular grooves on the top to help getting rid of heat. Hopefully that helps you a bit. Keep them oldies goin!
