Got my 13yr old daughter out for her first big ride out in the fields, nothing but nice powder. She did awesome and i couldn't have been more proud. Only problem is she came back to me and the throttle was froze closed. would only pull about 1/4 of and inch. My first thought was thank god it stuck closed and not open. Now what would cause this. She was riding slow so did it ice up? second after i got it unstuck now it wont go, bogs and seem to hold at 3-4000 untill i blip the trottle and it kinda pics up but still not right. So im thinking tors problem after stuck throttle. Ran perfect before this. Thank god for the torrs as this is why i never ride without it working. Dont have time before work to get into it but wanted to see if you guys think im on the right track. I will unplug the torrs and test it to see if that was it. More worried as to why the throttle froze????? Quick pick!! Its a 96xt if ya cant make it out.

from the sounds of it it might be a tors issue or there is ice still in the throttle assembly. was it stored out-side?

You might want to pop the airbox off and look at the slides to see if they are pulling evenly as well in case you had a slide sticking or something, also wouldn't be bad to pull and clean them if you haven't as you wouldn't want any water in there causing a problem.

Check that a needle hasen't dropped out of a slide. sled will idle but won't pull without a lot of vacuum for fuel to push the needle out of the brass.
Just a thought..goodluck

Well it turned out to be a slide. Upon taking it apart the screw from the rail had come out. Not sure how that happened? Can i use blue locktite on this to make sure it doesnt happen again, or just make sure it tight. Also i leaned out the needles a notch after the head gasket mod, since my daughter will be doing most of the riding at slower speeds shoud i move them back to stock. Just worried about her running lean when she's keeping on the needles.

run it on the needles and read plugs.( half throttle) for some distance
