H/C clutch question
Ingagement is 4500 rpm's 50/36 dalton helix with Heelclickers was reving around 8900-9000 rpms Turks tunning tips says not too put any weight in the center but since I put weight in the center it put rpms down to 8500 rpms..Red H/C spring and black spring
How else would I drop my engagement except for weight in the center...It revs where it should be but it's like I have the breaks on ..it's holding back mide to top end when it should be pulling like a freight train.. softer spring ???
Turk any thoughts..

first of all you need to list what weight you have in each hole . heel mid and tip. heel weight will bring down your engagement down. moving your weight from mid to tip will make for a better shift curve and you will get more top end out of it . the best thing you could do is to read mr viper700 's heel clicker tuning tips thread, very informative.

the clutch experts will want to know how much weight your running now and where the weight is tip heel center, whats your engagement at this will get you better answer

so

Ingagement is 4500rpms...I'm going to start from scratch again...lol
So starting out
So leave the middle empty put 5,6,7 in the heel and long bolt and 3-4 washers on the tip...

(4000rpm's) If engagement is too high put more weight in heel if engagement is too low take out weight in heel..

(8500rpms)If topend rmp's are too high put weight in tip and too low take out

Is my thinking process right please correct me on this one...thanks

thanks

First time tunner...eh...lol
Just trying to wrap my brain around everything...
Suspension, Track slack, clutching, jetting, compression, squish, porting, fuel, transfer...lol Eventually I'll put it all together....lol

good luck with h/c ;)!

None of my tuning tips tell you to run a 50/36 helix with heelclickers. I would not use that helix in a zillion years & if it is written as 1 of my clutching tips it was not by me!

fyi
I have tried 2 setups on my viper 4.3 heel 0 tip hc red spring advatage 48/40 at 70 engage at 4500 tops at 8500-8600 depending on temps(136" ripsaw filly clipped) on the 121" 4.3 heel 3.3 tip same rpms same helix both with 14.6mm rollers

Also tried 5g heel 3.3 tip 15.6 rollers hc red rx1warrior helix(i belive 51/43) corner to corner pulls like crazy, and pulls hard until 80mph tops at 96mph. with warrior helix lost top but gained tons of bottom and trail corner to corner pull and lots of bottom. This is on a 136" conected cone 1.25" on a viper clipped every 3rd windows(track tha came on 2005 venture 700's in canada) Engagement @4500rpm peaks @8200 and pulls up to 8500rpm.
