What is this going to do for me? I bought it off of here as I am a newbie, by the waay awesome site. Can I just plug it in and go or what? Was told by the guys that help set it up to find one and buy it if I had a chance so thats what I did.

Racing is all this sled does, grass all summer and ice when it gets here.How far does it advance the timing? I already have it 3 degrees. I also recently bouhgt a set of Power Inc. pipes as well but probably won't run til summer, so jetting is going to diff. change for this year. Thanks Yammie God

JUST WHAT I DO WITH MY 2000. SO GOOD YOUR FINE. THESE RACE BOXES WILL THROUGH TIMING FASTER ALONG WITH OPENING POWERVALVES FASTER. I TESTED RACE BOX ON MY 2000 AND HAD TO CHANGE NEEDLE POSITION BECAUSE OF LEAN SPOT OFF THROTTLE. ALL DEPENDS HOW MUCH IT HAS BEEN REPROGRAMED. 3 DEGREES ADVANCE WOULD PROBLEY BE A STOCK RACE BOX. Not to start any pissing matches, but isn't the 8EK High RPM box primarily for SRXs so they can have the Viper timing map plus no retarting until about 10,000rpm. This is how Jeff explained it to me, midrange timing spike and all. Can these race boxes be reprogrammed? I've had the 8EK race box in my 02 Viper for 5 or 6 years because the porting on my cylinders wanted the RPM around 9500-9600RPM. Now that I've gone back to stock cylinders and carbs with CPR pipes, I wonder if I should put the stock CDI back in?

YOUR CORRECT YAMABLUE. BUT NOT ALL SRX BOXES HAVE BEEN REPROGRAMMED TO RUN AT VERY HIGH RPM. THE TWO BOXES I HAVE ARE 8DN. SO THE 8EK IS A VERY HIGH RPM FULL RACE BOX. ANOTHER THING THESE BOXES MUST MATCH YOUR YEAR HARNESS OR YOU WILL HAVE ALOT OF EXTRA WORK. 3:16 (yammie tony)

Mine works just fine. No temp issue since it is actually an 8EK box. So below 9300 do you think there is any difference between the stock viper and the 8EK hi rpm?

does anybody know what markings are on the 98 99 race cdi or have 98 or 99 race cdi that thay would sell ??
