So I blew 2 belts over the weekend. Both OEM belts. Took the sled into dealer and they found the clutch alignment was out due to a missing nut on one of the front motor mounts. 1/8 inch out.
Now they're trying to talk me into 4 new motor mounts at $143 ea. Aren't the SRX motor mounts tough? He's telling me the rubber breaks down over time, blah, blah, blah.
So what should i do here? Align the clutches and torque the motor mounts i have on there down and add a new belt? Think this will cure the problem? I really can't afford to put all new mounts on it nor can i afford new belts every 300km at $110 CAN. Plus i wanna be riding this weekend!
Its a 2001 SRX 700S with 13,000km.
Thanks for any input.

i would replace the missing nut, line it up again and run it. never seen the actual rubber engine mounts go on these things. my wifes 98 has over 40,000km and my 01' 15000km all very hard abusive miles and they still have the orignal mounts and don't blow belts.

The dealer is trying to sell you something you do not need. Make sure the bolts for all parts of the motor mounts are torqued correctly. Have teh alignment done, make sure the bolts are in the engine torque limiter and that they are tight. You should have the clutches checked to make sure the bushings are not worn out. I have never seen the motor mounts on any sled break.
Dealer is trying to take advantage of you! you need a new nut and a new belt & alignment. Then take it from there... I don't think you will have any more issues.

i would say you have a clutch issue have them line clutchs and check center to center then you can service clutches
